I'm an engineering consultant with over 15 years of experience — starting as a software engineer and growing into senior leadership roles focused on people management and engineering strategy. I work with businesses to modernize their technology stacks, build capable engineering teams, and establish the processes that let those teams move with speed and confidence.
FJM Consulting LLC is how I engage with businesses that need senior engineering guidance — evaluating architecture decisions, leading stack modernization efforts, coaching teams, and helping organizations adopt the tools and practices that move them forward.
I'm also the founder of doBeacon — an early-stage startup building the next generation of location-aware tools for businesses.

Time is the greatest asset. Build for today's ten customers, but know exactly what you'll expand and what you'll replace at a million. Have the plan — don't build it prematurely.
Simple surfaces, complex engineering
Keep processes and interfaces light. The engineering absorbs the complexity so people don't have to. Complicated onboarding and heavy workflows are a cost measured in lost customers and slow teams.
